The Mystery of History!

Mystery of History

Our FANTASTIC new program can be experienced in a range of ways, and can focus on any History topic you may be covering. Take a look at the below packages!

Package 1 – Play in a Day
Splitting the year group into 3 (30 students in each group max), each class works on a rotational system and experiences 3 different art forms, each focusing on the chosen subject. Each art form lasts around an hour to an hour and a half (depending on your timetable) and works towards a small performance at the end of the day. This can be performed to another year group, or to parents.
Drama (2 arts facilitators) – Each class works on a short scene (about 2-3 pages long) that focuses on a certain aspect of the subject area. The scene includes facts and dates, and has enough lines for everybody in the class. Each scene follows on from the last and brings the story together for one fantastic performance.
Dance – The classes learn an individual section of choreography in the style of the chosen History topic. The sections come together to create a show stopping dance as part of the final performance.
Singing – The classes learn an original song to be performed as the big finale. The song summarises everything the students have learnt about their Mystery of History topic.

Package 2 – Workshops with 3 arts facilitators
Splitting the year group into 3 (30 students in each group max), each class works on a rotational system and explores 3 different sub-topics of the chosen area of History (for example, if looking at the Tudors the sub-topics could be King Henry VIII and his wives, Life in Tudor Britain and Elizabeth’s reign – or any other topic you would want covered). Each class spends an hour to an hour and a half (depending on your timetable) learning about this topic through drama games and role play.

Package 3 – Workshop with 1 arts facilitator
Splitting the year group into 3 (30 students in each group max), each class spends an hour to an hour and a half (depending on your timetable) with one arts facilitator exploring the chosen topic. The session content can be flexible, depending on what the children have learnt already, or it can be an introduction to the topic. The pupils take part in drama games and role play. The workshop is repeated throughout the day for all classes.
