New term, new things to come!

Last term was a busy one for Round Midnight. From Stone Age and Viking performances to a tour of “Straight Talking”, (our theatre in education piece that puts a STOP to homophobic bullying), from American accent workshops to Dementia Leadership training, from a FAST film program in Castle Vale to an arts festival in Shanghai and back!

Our busy term ended on a high over the Easter holidays with our Easter project Midnight F.E.A.S.T. being an absolute hit. Our cast of thirty 7-16 year old’s spent four days devising an original comedy show all based around the theme of “Performance 101”. This brilliant performance taught our audience what it takes to be a performer, with chapters such as “stage superstitions”, “auditions” and “dealing with rejection” and of course, finishing off with our own version of “Greased Lightning”, or should we say “Teeth Whitening”. Well done to all those involved!

As the new term starts, new exciting projects are on the horizon and we can’t wait to get stuck in. Keep a look out for our new Theatre in Education performance “Follow Me” – a piece that explores extremism in young people’s culture. The tour kicks off in a couple of weeks so if you would like to book this brand new comedy performance for your school – get in touch. More information about this will be coming soon.

Places are now available for Round Midnight’s Performing Arts Summer School – a week of comedy acting, singing and dancing for three different age groups; 4-7’s, 7-11’s and 11-16’s. If you would like to book a place on our fantastic Summer Schools, email us at summerschool@roundmidnight.org.uk.

As always, please contact us if you have any projects in mind for your school and we will be more than happy to help. Here’s to a busy and successful summer term!
